Founded by legendary host Mark Birley in 1963, Annabel’s is one of the most famous clubs in the world.Recently renovated by London restaurateur Richard Caring, who commissioned the talented Swedish interior designer Martin Brudnizki, the club feels more decadent, whimsical and lavish than ever. Hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper adorns the walls in both first floor bars, one depicting the glorious India of the maharajahs, the other a verdant brightly coloured jungle.
Showcased in the lounge bar is de Gournay’s iconic hand painted ‘L’Eden’ tropical wallpaper with wild animals included – panthers and tigers peer through the undergrowth and monkeys play amidst the tree canopies. This paradisiacal landscape provided the perfect backdrop for Kendall Jenner’s photo shoot with US Vogue atop the grand rococo stone fireplace
